History
1962
The creation of the first two companies in Italy: one at Poggibonsi (Siena),
established by Silvano Bencini and Renzo Salvadori, the other at Certaldo
(Florence) founded by Gianfranco Biancanelli and Roberto Coli.
1965
First international exports:
France, Belgium and the
Netherlands.
1973
Establishment of Industrie Macchine
Edili Riunite (IMER). Two new
factories are established in Italy: one
in Rapolano Terme (Siena), the other
in Certaldo (Florence).
1981
IMER France becomes the
company's first foreign branch.
1982
- Start of the distribution activity on
the Spanish market and following
opening of the IMER Iberica branch.
- A new Italian factory set up at San
Gimignano (Siena) for the production
of concrete mixing plants.
1986
Debut on the British market and following creation of the IMER Direct (GB) branch.
1987
Partnership agreements signed with Japanese giants IHI for
construction equipment and Mikasa Sangyo for compaction machinery.
1990
IMER International becomes the new name of the merger of the
two companies, now with sights set increasingly on international
development.
1991
- Joint venture with Japanese group Nissei Build Kogyo to produce
automatic parking systems.
- The creation of IMER USA, the first overseas branch.
1999
Acquisition of the Friuli-based Le Officine Riunite - Udine. IMER becomes sector leader in
the production of batching plants.
2000
The company is launched on the
global market under the name IMER Group, achieving a leading
position in the construction sector.
2002
- Acquisition of the Friuli firm L&T specializing in the production
of truck mixers.
- Conception of the IHIMER company, a joint venture between
the IMER Group and IHI Construction Machinery Ltd.
- Russia: commencement of operations at the sales branch.
2003
Creation of the IMER Asia branch with offices in Singapore.
2004
The range of products increases
with the initiation of a new line of
mortar spraying and conveying
machinery.
2005
Establishment of the IMER Latinoamerica y El Caribe branch to cover
the markets of Central America and the northern zone of the South
American continent.
2006
- Inauguration of the IMER Middle
East branch, to access the markets
of the Middle East.
- Opening of a factory in Turkey for
the production of truck mixers.
As part of a new joint-venture, IMER-L&T, the Group expands
into the regions of Turkey and the
countries of the Caucasus.
2007
- With its branch I.M.E.R Maroc it starts
operations and logistics in the countries
of the Maghreb.
- The Russian branch is revitalized
under the name of IG Russia OOO.
2008
The IMER Iberica branch
unveils its new site in
Saragossa (20,000 sq. m.).
2009
- IHIMER enters the lifting sector with the new tracked aerial platforms'
product range.
- Establishment of a commercial branch in China (IMER Shanghai).
- Acquisition of the Iteco company based in Pegognaga (Mantua),
manufacturer of self-propelled aerial working platforms (AWP).
- IMER Latinoamerica, located in Monterrey (Mexico), starts its activity of
production and sale.
